AFRI-DISCOVERY’s AFRICAN DAY CELEBRATION ‘2024’ was held in Bayreuth on Sat. 25th May, 2024. It’s an event held to commemorate the formation and continues existence of the African Union (AU Day), a worldwide yearly remembrance and acknowledgement of the union, which falls on the 25th of May, every year.
The event was a great way for Africans and friends of Africa to observe the day, and to celebrate the cultures, friendship, unity, and collaboration among African countries. It was a free event for everyone and brought together people from all walks of life, including residents of Bayreuth and all friends of Africa. The event allowed people to come together to celebrate Africa and have a feel of the different cultures of the continent.
Although the main objective of the event was to celebrate the African continent, create new alliances and network for a better friendship among all present, there was a display of different cultural identities through unique African clothes, food, dance and music.
The event was supported by the city of Bayreuth and the Studierendenwerk Oberfranken.
